Hello Darlings!
I figured I would do this while I am still in the first week of my blog launch! I will preface this by doing a quick introduction!
My name is Celina and I am 27 years old. I grew up in the states (California) and have recently moved to the UK (because of love). I love reading (obviously) and journaling. I also adore French New Wave and Old Hollywood films. Honestly, I haven’t watched much this year and it is reflected in my reading (currently at 104 books!).
We will begin the tag now..
1. Why did you start this blog?
I love reading and having a community to talk books with. I have wanted to make a booktube for YEARS but I just haven’t been confident enough to start. I joined book twitter and bookstagram a little over two months ago and I love it there. Everyone is so sweet and easy to talk to. Honestly the nicest little corner I have found (and I have been on the internet for so many years!). Many encouraged me to start a blog, so here I am! Hoping to join booktok in 2021 and maybe eventually build enough courage to start a booktube in the next couple years..
2. What are some fun and unique things you can bring to book blogging?
I believe my personality and reading taste can be unique! I really want to feature more diverse books. Especially in the latinx community (I am Mexican American). I also love dreamy vintage vibes and hope over time, I can showcase that on my blog via my images and theme.
I also think my age can bring new book recs onto the scene. It is very YA dominated and I hope to read a lot more new adult/adult for people looking to make the same transition as me. I just can’t relate to YA characters anymore.
3. What are you most excited for about this blog?
I am excited to have a place to express myself with no character limit. I am also very excited to possibly join book tours in the future! I have always thought that would be fun. I am just excited for the experience really.
4. Why do you love reading?
Reading is definitely a form of escapism and selfcare. I love just getting out of my head for awhile and experiencing a different world. It has been a tough year, so I have read a lot and I don’t know what I would have done without all those books. I also just really appreciate writing, especially prose and lyrical writing. I love to feel like I am in a magical dream.
5. What series got you into reading?
When I was a preteen, I was obsessed with the Gossip Girl series. This was before the show even existed! I also had a huge Olsen Twins phase as a kid and read all their book series. They had hundreds.
6. What questions would you ask your favorite authors?
I would ask what their favourite books are and what got them into writing. I obviously love their work, so I would love to find out what inspires them. Something I love is seeing my favourite authors doing blurbs for other books. I just love knowing what they read!
7. What challenges do you think starting a blog will be the hardest to overcome?
Finding an audience and new friends. In the back of my mind, I am always scared this will flop. Even if it does, I will just carry on with it because this is for me at the end of the day. I would love to have a place to look back on and see what I was reading and what my thoughts were.
8. When did you start reading?
Since I was a kid. I honestly can’t remember when I wasn’t.
9. Where do you read?
I read everywhere. I read in bed, on the sofa, while I do the dishes or other chores (thank you audiobooks!). I used to love listening to audiobooks while walking in the city center or physical books inside cafes. I long for the days to come back.
10. What kind of books do you like to read?
I used to read a lot of young adult fantasy, but lately I have been branching out to other genres. Mostly new adult/adult, contemporary romance, epic fantasies, and sci-fi. I also adore poetry and fairytale retellings.
That is all for the tag!
Thank you so much if you have read this far! Please comment below your favourite genre and/or a genre you hope to read more of. Happy reading!

Ooh thanks for sharing! I can definitely relate to you a lot on the challenges part… I just started my blog 3 months ago and when I first started, I’m pretty sure no one read my posts for the first 2 weeks and I was afraid that I won’t be able to find an audience as well! But bloghopping really helps, and indeed everyone in the online bookish community is super sweet! Congrats on starting your blog!

Hi Celina! I’m Lea ☺️ my favourite genre is fantasy but I love romance and a bit of mystery too. I’m currently reading Woven in Moonlight which is a latinx inspired YA fantasy! I’m really enjoying it so far 🧡
